To the moon! 🚀

The weather’s been really nice in the North State these past couple of weeks and I feel extremely blessed and grateful to have had the opportunity to take advantage of it. I was able to take my 5 year old son to the park where we played catch, practiced his batting, and checked out the playground. The highlight of the trip for both of us though, was the Stomp Rockets.

I always wanted one of these as a kid, but I never had the opportunity to own one. It’s such a simple toy, but my son would bust up laughing every time I launched one of the rockets into the stratosphere, and of course his laughter made me laugh too. It was one of those special bonding moments with a father and his son that I know I’ll be able to look back on and cherish. The weather prediction says there might be rain in the forecast, but we also have a couple more sunny days ahead, go out there and make some memories North State.

Now through February 28th, subscribers to Good News: North State can enter for a chance to win a FREE petite session courtesy of Jessica and Elegant Sunflower Photography and Designs. Winner will be announced in the March 2nd issue of Good News: North State.

Community in Action:

I recently had the pleasure of meeting with Toni of Toni’s Burger and More (11975 Highway 70), and learning about their new Hot Meal Program. The aim of this program is to help as many Butte county families as possible get a hot meal, free of charge. The Hot Meal Program will be running at Toni’s Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday 1-3pm. For those interested in signing up, or in the position to help, reach out to Toni on facebook, by visiting tonisburgersandmore.com or by calling 530-533-3252

Question of the Month:

Last week I threw down the gauntlet when I asked who had the BEST burrito in the North State. I’ve had some good feedback, Redding seems to have a good thing going on and there’s a few new taquerias on my radar now! I still think Antonios might reign supreme 😏

Antonio’s, love at first bite

But seriously though, I’m open to change! Weigh in below with your suggestion, and we’d love to feature them in an upcoming issue of Good News: North State!

Thanks for reading this issue of Good News: North State! I hope you enjoyed it, and I hope to see you out there in the community. If you have some good news that you would like to see covered, or just have some feedback to share, I’m all ears. Until next week.
